Movement is important at any age to stay active and healthy as the years go by.
Pilates is one of the practices that allows us to stay active. This activity offers numerous benefits that take care of us at all stages of our lives.
Movement isn't just about counting steps, taking 3,000 or 10,000 a day. It's about going a step further and moving your muscles and joints in a deeper way.
A way that we could only do by training through a centuries-old discipline, such as Pilates .
The benefits of pilates.
Pilates is a physical discipline that helps us take care of ourselves in many ways:
-
Strengthens the core.
-
Increases flexibility.
-
It helps us move all our muscles and joints.
-
Improves posture and body alignment.
-
Promotes the mind-body connection.
-
Reduces stress and anxiety.
-
It can be modified to suit different ages.
Due to its characteristics, Pilates is an activity for all women, regardless of whether you're 20, 40, or 70 years old.

The reality is that we'll all get older just the same, but it's in our hands to reach them in a healthier way, feeling more agile and younger. Because Pilates can help us look and feel better. To feel that the years don't weigh us down and that we're still ourselves.
It's an activity that even appeals to women who don't like exercising at all.
Pilates goes beyond exercise; it helps you feel better, which is why it's addictive.
By practicing it, you will not only strengthen your body, but also your mental well-being.
It helps us improve our core, maintain good posture, and prevent injuries. For this reason, it's recommended to practice Pilates regularly to increase flexibility and joint mobility.

Pilates fosters a deep connection between mind and body.
By combining breathing and concentration techniques, this discipline helps reduce stress and improve quality of life. That's why it's so necessary, because sometimes it's good to stop and focus on what truly matters.
Plus, the intensity of the movements can be adjusted to suit each individual, which is why it's a sport suitable for everyone. Age doesn't matter. Age is just a number. But you can choose to age more gracefully, feeling young and agile, feeling like you did when you were 20 even if you're 40.

Carla Scagliola, Pilates Studio entrepreneur in Reus, tells us her story.
We met Carla Scagliola, @carla.scagliola on Instagram, thanks to Lara López, a friend and photographer.
Carla has told us about the potential of Pilates for our health.
She is a woman and an entrepreneurial mother of only 42 years old, but she claims to move and feel like she is 20.
14 years ago she opened her Pilates Studio in the city of Reus, Tarragona , focusing on the art of Contrology (Classical Pilates Method).
What led Carla to start Pilates?
Carla started Pilates in 2010 after experiencing long periods of lower back pain due to three hernias in the area.
After extensive training in Barcelona and the USA, she says Pilates not only helped her with her condition, but also reminded her of her years of classical dance. This prompted her to open her studio.

Carla practices Contrology . It's a training method that strengthens you from the inside out. By training this way, she's sure to improve your posture, feel more vital, and experience less pain, allowing you to enjoy a normal life. That's no small feat!
Follow the method exactly as Joseph created it. He listens to each person and personalizes the session, giving them the exercises their body needs.
“In ten sessions you will FEEL the difference. In twenty sessions you will SEE the difference. In thirty sessions your body will CHANGE.”
Carla assures us that Pilates is more than just a physical practice. After just a few sessions, you'll see a change in the way you walk, sit, and move. You'll even notice it improves your mood.
If you want to start enjoying its benefits, it's important to consult with an experienced and well-trained professional. It's best if they use the classic method, with private sessions and equipment.
You can start a season individually and then try floor training. Even at home. The important thing is to start moving.
The impact of aromatherapy on Pilates: improving concentration and purifying spaces.
Carla assures that during a Pilates session, it's important to create a pleasant space. Music should only be in the background, and clothing should be light and loose.
One of her secrets is aromatherapy . In her classes, she often introduces the power of aromatherapy, inspired by our Flores del Norte home care line .
She uses it in many ways. For example, at the beginning of the first breaths, incorporating an essence that helps with concentration, calmness, or energy, depending on the student's mood at the time.

She also uses air purifiers on the devices or mats. She does this to cleanse the space after sessions, or even before, due to its restorative power.
To achieve this, she relies on our ingredients, such as vegetable alcohol and extracts of pine, cypress, eucalyptus, thyme, and sage. This creates a pleasant space in which to welcome her students.

The benefits of essential oils in Pilates are numerous:
-
Relieve muscle pain.
-
Relieve joint pain.
-
Improve circulation.
-
Improve mood.
-
Contribute to the cleanliness of spaces.
-
Improve breathing.
-
Increase energy.
-
Increase concentration.
Now that you know the main benefits and properties of Pilates, all that's left is for you to let yourself go and dare to say "yes."
It's a complete, exciting, and even fun practice that you can start at any age. Carla claims she has students from 11 to 91 years old.
It's never too early or too late to start. Even at home, while you're surrounded by the power of aromatherapy from Flores del Norte .
Thank you Carla for making this editorial a reality.
