Does the tan go away when exfoliating?

¿Se va el moreno al exfoliar? - Nasei

I have needed to talk about this curious story for a long time.

Because 12 years later, I still have THE phrase burned into my head.

I put you in situation.

Imagine that you are going to give a woman a leg-draining massage and before starting you offer her a body exfoliation.

I can tell you that this is recommended so that the rosemary, mint and grapefruit oil used in this type of massage is better absorbed and the results are more effective.

Do you know what his response was? «I'd rather not, because my tan will go away».

I'm curious to know your opinion on the subject.

Do you think that exfoliating your skin makes your skin go brown? Fact or myth?

Well, let's start at the beginning.

What is exfoliation?

Exfoliation is the process that prevents dead cells from accumulating on the surface of your body.

Something like that How to do general cleaning at home or sand your skin, in a gentle version, to leave it new.

Your skin has several layers: hypodermis (the deepest), dermis and epidermis.

The latter is the only one you know because it is the most superficial and the one you can see and touch.

The epidermis has its own self-regeneration system, but for it to be truly effective it needs external help.

But what are dead cells?

When cells are created inside your skin they are like little balls.

As they mature and fulfill their function, these cells rise to the surface (the epidermis).

And, although imperceptible to your human eye, they flatten until they become small scales similar to those of a fish.

This is how they pile up and form a kind of worn roof that gives your skin a dull, dry and brittle appearance that, sometimes, you are only aware of when comparing it with the after.

In addition, your epidermis also accumulates:

  • Dust (yes, the same one that stays on your shelves and on your bedside table) and environmental pollution.

  • Remains of lotions, oils and balms that have not been absorbed, sun cream included.

Why should I exfoliate my skin?

Simple.

He exfoliant It is the easiest and most pleasant remedy to solve this accumulation of dead cells that have already fulfilled their function and spoil the appearance of your skin.

The only product that removes those small scales and leaves your epidermis soft and free of everything that is left over.

If you don't exfoliate regularly, there's a chance that dirt will clog your pores.

When this happens you are paving the way for bacteria, pimples and other blemishes to appear.

Don't we really want that?

Beyond the aesthetic, exfoliating your skin is a matter of HEALTH. Remember that we are talking about the largest organ in your body.

What are its benefits?

Do you need more reasons to convince you that exfoliation is serious?

Here you have them. Body exfoliation helps you:

  • keep your hydrated and oxygenated skin.
  • Activate circulation and get your lymphatic system working.
  • Strengthen the system natural protection and its barrier function.
  • Prevent aging ahead of time and increase collagen production and elasticity.
  • Eliminate toxins and improve cellulite.

If you want to achieve healthy skin that looks renewed, beautiful and soft, exfoliating is the essential step.

The equivalent of sleeping or doing nothing when you are very tired and need to reset body and mind.

When it comes to renewing your skin, exfoliation is the key.

How often is it advisable?

The cells in your epidermis have an approximate lifespan of between 28 and 40 days.

Some last longer, others less.

Therefore, to help this process, our mission is to help you Get into the habit of using the body scrub every 2 or 3 weeks.

A couple of times a month, wow.

Keep in mind that if your skin is sensitive, cell production is slower, so we recommend that you extend the time between one exfoliation and the next.

When is it best to do it?

Ideally, you should exfoliate at night, in the shower, so you avoid exposing yourself to sun damage and free radicals right afterward with sensitized skin.

Additionally, regeneration occurs while you sleep.

Better to join forces to double efficiency, don't you think?

How do I apply it?

Our recommendation is that Start by washing your body with the olive and lavender herbal soap that does not dry out the skin at all.

Then rub the scrub from your feet to your neckline in circles and upward for 2 or 3 minutes with little pressure.

The key is consistency, not force.

When ever it is a respectful exfoliant —ours contains only Mediterranean sea salt and vegetable oils rich in vitamin E—, you can use it on your armpits and on the outside of your private parts

Finally, rinse with water and dry your skin by patting it lightly with the towel.

Do you have contraindications?

None. Only benefits.

In addition to everything we have already told you, exfoliating the skin stimulates your muscles, gives you well-being and makes the rest of the cosmetic products effective.

I always use the same metaphor because I find it the most graphic.

Using cosmetics without having exfoliated your skin first is like painting over gotelé.

If you don't exfoliate your skin, you're not letting your cosmetics get where they need to go and their effectiveness is reduced by 50%.

No matter how good your intention is, it's a bit of a half-hearted thing.

So, does the tan go away or not when you exfoliate the skin?

Not only does it not go away, but it also makes it last longer and makes your skin look softer and more beautiful.

Your tan has to do with melanin pigmentation and exfoliation does not affect this at all.

Your tan is not going to go away because you exfoliate your skin, quite the opposite.

So listen to us and don't skip this step again in the shower every 15 or 20 days.
